Conversation courses

On the conversation course Let me entertain you! we will introduce you to amazing facts about the English language, we will talk about English culture as well as pop culture, we will draw your attention to the mispronunciation of some very popular words. We'll teach you how to navigate your travels as well as other useful and important things you didn't learn in school, and you never will!
Five unusual workshops await you on the course, where you will surely master the English language:
Workshop 1: Houston, we have a problem!
Can you guess what the topic of the first workshop will be? Have you ever had a problem when you were talking in English and you couldn't understand each other? Do you know that misunderstandings are most common due to misunderstanding of expressions that are not in the spirit of our language? Is it illogical to you that in English we say: we have noses that run but feet that smell? Or why is a pineapple called a pineapple and it does not consist of either a pine tree or an apple? These and similar illogical words and phrases will be part of the first workshop of the unusual conversation course. There will be explanations of idioms as well as attempts to translate our illogical expressions into English: Ganjam papire! Hodam po doktorima! Spava k'o zaklan!

2. Workshop: Hit the road Jack!
The topic of this workshop is not hard to figure out, right? We assume that this evergreen reminds you of one thing: travel! You are right! In the second workshop, we will help you overcome language barriers on your trip, but we will also introduce you to interesting customs of countries around the world. For example, don't be surprised if you meet a Spaniard and he/she kisses you twice on the cheek. It's their way of saying "Hello"! Of course, what is most necessary for every traveler is how to communicate in English at the airport, on the train, bus, hotel, taxi, restaurant or store.

3. Workshop: Pardon my French!
What do you think the topic of the workshop is? It has nothing to do with France or the French language! Let's bring you closer: This expression originated in the 19th century in America, when Americans apologized for using French expressions, so that it became established today as the expression we use when swearing. The third workshop of the conversation course will draw your attention to the most common misunderstandings caused by insufficient knowledge of the language, the wrong pronunciation of very popular words and some common
phrases used in the English language that you were not taught about in school! Nor will they ever!
4. Workshop: God save the Queen!
Did you know that the English national anthem God save the Queen is also used in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Barbados. Actually this is logical because England colonized these countries. Did you know that at the height of its power, the British Empire had the rule that it was "the empire on which the sun never sets", because at all times of the day the sun was shining in at least one part of it? In the fourth workshop, we will talk with you about the most interesting historical facts about England as a colonial power, but also interesting facts about other English-speaking countries!
5. Workshop: Pulp Fiction
The term pulp fiction actually means easy reading. The main association with this term is the film of the same name, which is considered Tarantino's masterpiece, and the fifth workshop will not only deal with the film but with pop culture in a broader sense. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss everyone's favorite topics such as: film, music, fashion, popular television shows, famous music festivals, but also the changes that have occurred in these fields over the decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s of the last century). Let's just remember the music of the 60s. Years that celebrated some of the most famous bands ever - The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Doors. We could go on and on and only touch the tip of the iceberg. That's why the Pulp Fiction workshop is here to remind you of the most memorable moments of pop culture through the decades with the aim of telling you about these topics.
